Autonomous-systems company Ondas and Palantir have formed a new standalone company called Regna AI to sell fine-tuned AI models to governments that want to own and run their models on their own infrastructure.

Regna AI is described as "powered by Palantir and bootstrapped by Ondas," and is expected to scale with institutional partners. The idea is to deliver mission-specialized models — fine-tuned on open-weight bases — that customers deploy inside their own sovereign environments rather than relying on outside model providers or cloud infrastructure.

Ondas will be the first customer, using the models for autonomous mission orchestration at the edge. The models are designed to run on edge hardware, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems such as drones, stratospheric balloons, ground vehicles, surface vessels, and command-and-control nodes — even under denied, degraded, intermittent, or limited connectivity conditions. The announced capabilities would help operators assess evidence, compare options, and propose mission-plan updates for human review and authorization.

"No government should have to build its AI strategy on models or data infrastructure it does not control," said Ondas chairman and CEO Eric Brock, positioning Regna AI as a potential AI platform for the U.S. Department of War, allied governments, and the defense companies that serve them.
